Check if the BIM POS Database Engine is running on the server.
Check if the network is functional (ping the server).
Check the system DSN Name from the computer ODBC settings.
Data source name: POS
Server Name: POS (Or DB engine Name)
Database Startup Options: C:\SQLANY50\WIN32\dbclient.exe -x TCPIP
Restart the Program.
If the problem persists then contact your system administrator or program vendor.
Check if the BIM Printing Engine is running. (from the POS go to Manager>Redirect Printers and check the Engine Status on the bottom)
Check if the Printer is Paused.
Check if the Printer is Redirected.
Check the printing settings from the backoffice; possible options: (print invoices on cash? print kitchen tickets on cash, are there any printers setup for this station...)
Check if the magnetic card reader is plugged into the system.
If no keyboard is plugged to the magnetic card reader cable end, then plug a keyboard and restart the computer. After restart, you may remove the keyboard.
If the magnetic card reader is PS2 then check that it's not connected on the mouse port.
This means that you are a cashier but you dont have the permission to punch-in to the system. Check with your system Administrato to fix the problem.
